C O L O R your holidays with the 2008 Pantone Palette

Each season, PANTONE releases a fashion color report, which sets the trends for the season in apparel, accessories, and home fashions. For fall and winter 2008, the color palette is "defined by rich, elegant hues that offer a vibrant selection," according to the report - check out this link to see the full article.

With its opulent jewel tones and dreamy blues, this palette offers fashion possibilities from demure rose and mushroom to bright red and turquoise. Here are a few holiday gift ideas from modmoxie as well as some other talented Etsy artisans highlighting colors included in the PANTONE fall and winter selections.

Pictured at right, my 'True Blue' necklace in oxidized sterling and Bermuda blue Swarovski crystals, is inspired by the Twilight Blue tone. It would be a perfect pairing with evening fashions in deep blue tones, or especially striking with red.

This gorgeous Red Circus Dress from desirapesta (pictured below) is a perfect example of the Aurora Red in the Pantone palette. In red cotton satin, this slip-on design with three tiers of ruffles boasts the utmost in both comfort and style.

Here is an elegant Peacock Evening Bag from La Vita Lola that combines many of the cool yet lively tones from the Pantone report. It is pure luxe in lined silk, and its framed shape gives a nod to old Hollywood glamour.

Another popular accessory this season is the brooch. I am delighted that pins and brooches are back in style - they are such an easy and elegant way to add a dash of color and pizazz to any outfit. This Recycled Poppy Corsage in Marigold by foundling is gorgeous as well as environmentally conscious in its use of recycled materials. In a shade similar to Pantone's burnt orange, it would look equally stunning pinned to a peacock jacket or a brown blazer.

This cashmere scarf in a mushroom hue by ElleGanT is the perfect example of a luxury accessory with classic style that will endure season after season. With its neutral tone, it will coordinate with any outfit and creates the perfect backdrop for a favorite brooch. I love the clever gather which gives the scarf a unique and graceful shape.

I hope you've enjoyed reading about the Pantone Fall and Winter 2008 color forecast, and browsing my picks.

Wishing you and yours a Happy Holiday Season,
xx

Etsians in Print!

In local news...the Arizona Daily Star is publishing an article on Etsy! I was interviewed, along with several other local Etsy sellers in our Sonoran Artisans Etsy Street Team. Here's an article they printed today about my friend Sara Sacks a.k.a. woolies. The full article will run tomorrow in the Accent section of the Star. I'll update this post with a link to the article when it is available. I'm so excited - this will be modmoxie's first time in print! Many thanks to Sara for setting this up.
